W&G
W&G was an Australian record label that operated from the 1950s to about 1976. It was a subsidiary of the Melbourne precision engineering company White & Gillespie that also operated a distributor, recording studios and a vinyl pressing plant.
W&G released many significant recordings by Australian popular artists of the 1960s and also issued recordings of popular American artists, notably releases from ABC-Paramount (Ampar) label, which W&G distributed from 1955 until 1960, when the Australian distribution of ABC-Paramount releases was taken over by Festival Records Pty. Ltd..
W&G also established a special subsidiary label, In, which released classic mid-60s recordings.
